Excelsior tours Holiday Insurance in Britain and Europe. IMPORTANT NOTICE.
We draw your attention to the fact that the cancellation element of the agreement you take out when taking out insurance is not an insurance product, it is a cancellation scheme operated directly by Excelsior Tours Limited and not by the Insurer. Under the Association of British Insurers General Business Code of Practice, the person selling the travel insurance must draw your attention to important features of your policy including:
Policy Documentation: You should read the document carefully. It gives you full details of what is and is not covered and the conditions of the cover. Cover will vary from policy to policy and insurer to insurer.
Conditions, Exclusions and Warranties: Conditions and exclusions will apply to individual sections of your policy but refer to the general exclusions, conditions and warranties which will apply to the whole of your policy.
Fraudulent Claims: It is a criminal offence to make a fraudulent claim.
Health: Your policy contains restrictions regarding pre-existing medical problems concerning the health of the people travelling and of other people upon whose health the trip may depend. You are advised to
read your policy carefully.
Sports and Pastimes: If you are going to take part in dangerous sports or pastimes where there is a risk of injury, check that your policy covers you.
Property Claims: These claims are paid based on the value of the goods at the time you lose them and not on a ‘new for old’ or replacement cost basis, unless otherwise stated in your policy. Your policy will set out what proof the insurer needs to support any claim.
Policy Limits: Most sections of your policy have limits on the amount the insurer will pay under that section. Some sections also include other specific limits for example: for any one item or for valuables in total. You are advised to check your policy if you intend taking expensive items with you.
Policy Excesses: Under most sections of the policy, claims will be subject to an excess. This means that you will be responsible for paying the first part of each incident. The amount you have to pay is the excess.
Reasonable Care: You need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and your property.
Complaints: Your insurance policy will have in it a complaints procedure which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a complaint.
‘Cooling Off’ Period: Your policy will contain a ‘cooling off’ period during which you can return the policy and get a refund if you have a justifiable reason for being dissatisfied with the cover it provides. Your policy is governed by the law applicable to where you reside within the United Kingdom. The person selling the travel insurance or insurance documentation will identify your insurer. If you would like more information ask the person selling travel insurance particularly if you feel the insurance may not meet your needs. MAKE SURE YOU READ YOUR POLICY CAREFULLY

SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING YOUR HEALTH AND THE HEALTH OF THOSE NOT TRAVELLING WHO MAY MAKE IT NECESSARY FOR YOU TO CANCEL OR CUT SHORT YOUR TRIP
Most travel insurance policies have health restrictions in them that may exclude any pre-existing conditions. If you are purchasing our travel insurance we want to ensure you are provided with the best cover we can offer. All pre-existing medical conditions are excluded for UK trips, however you may wish to request additional cover for a condition. For trips to Europe it remains mandatory for ALL pre-existing medical conditions to be declared to insurers. If this applies to you, or to a close relative who may give you reason to cancel or cut short your trip, please complete the appropriate form and forward this to the Travellers Healthcheck. Please would you answer either ‘YES’ or ‘NO’ to the following questions;
Have you, anyone who is travelling with you or anyone not insured under this policy who may make it necessary for you to cancel or cut short your trip:
a) Pre-existing health conditions - so that we can ensure you are provided with the best cover we can offer please read the following questions carefully:

2. In the last few years - have you, or anyone who is travelling with you, been treated for any serious or re-occurring medical condition, been asked to take regular prescribed medication, or referred to a specialist or consultant at a hospital for tests, diagnosis or treatment?
3. You must also tell us if:
If you have answered ‘YES’ to any of the above questions we will be able to offer some cover and may be able to cover your health condition, although an increased premium and/or an increased excess may be required. After buying our holiday insurance you will receive a policy document and full details of the Travellers Healthcheck procedure with your booking confirmation. You will need to contact them as soon as possible, providing details from your booking confirmation, to see if the additional cover is available. The Travellers Healthcheck procedure only applies after cover has been purchased. It is carried out in the strictest confidence and the decision will be confirmed to you in writing. Should we require any additional premium and you accept our offer, this should be paid to the insurers within 14 days of receipt of their letter.
