As part of Excelsior Coaches Skills Pledge, Excelsior are committed to its staff to facilitate contiuned professional development, this is a key part of the successful growth of the business. Excelsior has been working with a third party training provider to deliver on site training since January 2009 to deliver NVQ Level 2 in Passenger Transport & Driver CPC Training to all of its Full Time Drivers.
Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) was introduced across
the European Union in September 2008 to maintain high driving standards and improve road safety. All professional coach drivers must hold a Driver CPC if they wish to continue driving for a living.
All Drivers are encouraged to participate in Excelsior’s NVQ/Driver CPC programme which contains compulsory modules including customer care, safe and defensive driving techniques, efficient usage of the vehicles, driver walk round checks, defect reporting, working time, driver’s hours and health and safety. Excelsior Coaches has seen 30 of its Full Time Drivers complete the 35 hours training, which concluded with case studies, a theory test and a practical examination.
